After much rewriting and reediting, I\u2019ve passed my manuscript back to my editor for her final review. The original manuscript weighed in at 88,000 words. This one\u2019s nearly <strong>180,000!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re wondering, that\u2019s big for a novel. \u201cNovel-length\u201d typically starts around 80K words.<\/p>\n<p>So, doing the math&#8230; there\u2019s a possibility that I really have <strong>two<\/strong> books on my hands, not one!<\/p>\n<p>If so, I would almost certainly not release them simultaneously. I\u2019d need to secure cover art for the second, never mind make the edits necessary to provide a smooth transition from part 1 to part 2. I\u2019m waiting to see whether my editor even thinks it\u2019s a good idea.<\/p>\n<p>Plus, there are other possibilities. My editor may send me back to the drawing board, or recommend edits that reduce the word count substantially. (I\u2019m really hoping I won\u2019t have to make huge edits from here, but you never know.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>I just wanted to share the latest with you!
